Professor Anil D’Cruz
Mumbia, India

Dr Anil D’Cruz is the Director of Oncology, Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. Dr Anil D’Cruz specializes in the treatment of Head & Neck Cancer, Cancer Screening (Preventive), Laparoscopic Surgery (Obs & Gyn), Oral cavity cancers, Laryngeal cancers, Thyroid, and parathyroid cancers. Dr D’Cruz has also served as the Director of Tata Memorial Hospital and Chief of Head Neck Services. Dr Anil D’Cruz is the first Indian to hold the prestigious positions of President-Elect (2018-2020) and President (2020-2022) of the Union International for Cancer Control in Geneva, Switzerland. He received specialized training in head and neck surgery at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, laser surgery at Vanderbilt University in the United States, and speech rehabilitation at the University of Indianapolis in the United States. Dr Anil D’Cruz is a highly skilled Surgical Oncologist with more than 33 years of experience.

Dr Andrew Foreman
Adelaide

Dr Foreman is an Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide, Australia. He completed a PhD in 2011 through the University of Adelaide which won the University Doctoral Research medal as well as multiple awards at national and international meetings. Dr Foreman completed his surgical training in Adelaide before undertaking a head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Toronto. His primary clinical interests are in trans oral robotic surgery as well as microvascular free flap reconstruction of head and neck defects. Dr Foreman is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide and has research interests in clinical outcomes research, next generation magnetic tracers for sentinel lymph node biopsy and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols. Dr Foreman has published more than 55 peer-reviewed articles and 7 book chapters. He is on the Editorial Board of two international journals and regularly reviews for multiple peer-reviewed journals. Dr Foreman has a strong interest in teaching and training and is currently the Chair of the Board of ENT training in Australia and New Zealand. 

Professor Katherine Hutcheson
Houston, Texas
Dr Kate Hutcheson is a Professor and Deputy Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery with dual appointment in the Division of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She serves as Section Chief and Research Director for the Section of Speech Pathology and Audiology. Dr Hutcheson is a certified speech-language pathologist with 18 practice years, a Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S) and Fellow of the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Dr Hutcheson is a clinical epidemiologist leading an internationally recognized, extramurally funded clinical research program. She has authored over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts with funding support from the National Institutes of Health, Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, the MD Anderson Institutional Research Grant Award program, and the CPRIT UT Health Innovation Training Program. She is an Associated Editor for the Head and Neck and Dysphagia journals. She is an accomplished clinician and educator who lectures nationally and internationally on radiation associated dysphagia and head and neck cancer rehabilitation. 

Associate Professor Jørgen Johansen
Odense, Denmark
Associate Professor Johansen is the Chief Physician at the Department of Oncology, Odense University Hospital, Denmark and Associate Professor at the Institute of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark since 2004. He is the supervisor of several Phd students and Master of Public Health as well as medical graduate research projects at the universities in Aarhus, Odense, and Copenhagen. His research focuses on head and neck cancer, fast-track clinical pathways, normal tissue reactions, QA in radiotherapy and nutrition. He is the organizer of several scientifical meetings and teaching courses and has held chairman-ships and board memberships of a wide range of scientifical and administrative national and international committees, chairing national clinical guidelines in head and neck cancer for the Danish National Board of Health since 2007. Jørgen is also Chairman of The Danish Head and Neck Cancer Group (DAHANCA) since 2006. Associate Professor Johansen has participated in national and international clinical and experimental trials in radiotherapy as principal investigator or co-investigator for more than 30 years. He also has over 130 peer-reviewed publications, more than 200 national and international abstracts/presentations and 150 scientific papers for 15 different international journals.

Professor Jonathan Clark AM
Sydney
Professor Clark AM is the inaugural Lang Walker Family Foundation Conjoint Professor and Chair in Head and Neck Cancer Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Sydney and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, the Director of Head and Neck Cancer Research at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and the Director of Translational Research at the Royal Prince Alfred Institute of Academic Surgery. Professor Clark is a leading academic head and neck cancer surgeon with over 350 publications and $32M in competitive and philanthropic research funding. He leads the Cancer Institute NSW funded Head and Neck Cancer Translational Research Program across ten hospitals and medical research institutes. This program is dedicated to developing novel technology-driven therapies, biomarkers and advanced reconstructive techniques that minimise the disease- and treatment-related morbidity of oral cancer and metastatic cutaneous squamous cell cancer. In recognition of his contributions to head and neck surgery he has been made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) and an Honorary Member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS).

Professor Jonathan Clark will present the 2023 ANZHNCS Chris O'Brien Oration.
