Thank you for your interest in attending the 2023 DCAS Course. RACS Section of Academic Surgery provides 15 complimentary student places annually for attendance at the DCAS course.

To apply for a complimentary registration, please complete the online expression of interest form by 5:00pm AEDT on Friday 24 February 2023. Applications will not be accepted after this date.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please ensure you have the following documents to upload prior to starting your application form

CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT

Confirmation of enrolment as a medical student in 2023 or a letter/ email from your Dean / Supervisor or university confirming your medical student status

OFFICE BEARER ROLE VERIFICATION

A letter or email from the current Society Chair / President verifying any office bearer roles held with university surgical interest groups


PLEASE NOTE

Should you miss out on a complimentary medical student registration, medical students are encouraged to register for the DCAS course.

Should an applicant receive complimentary registration to the DCAS course, all other associated costs of participation such as travel and accommodation are at the applicant’s personal expense.

  • Research Fellows
  • Surgical trainees 
  • Medical students
  • Early career academics 
  • Any surgeon who has ever considered involvement with publication or presentation of any academic work
If you have been to a DCAS course before, the program is designed to provide previous attendees with something new and of interest each year.

INFORMATION ON RACS ASC 2023 - ADELAIDE
The DCAS Course precedes the Annual Scientific Congress (ASC) of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) which commences Tuesday 2 May 2023. Please visit asc.surgeons.org for fees and to register.

Successful applicants for the DCAS Course should consider maximising their attendance and registering to attend the ASC. Even if you are not selected for a complimentary place at the DCAS Course, you may register to attend the DCAS Course and/or the ASC.
