Online Abstract Submission

 

Call for Abstracts

Papers must be relevant to the Conference themes Learn. Share. Transcend. The contribution of presenters is critical and we greatly value your input. You will be able to submit your paper for either verbal or poster presentation. 

Please note that paper or email copies will not be accepted, nor will abstracts be submitted by Conference Organisers on behalf of authors. The closing date for all abstract submission considerations is 11:00 PM AWST Friday 11 October 2024.

 

Guidelines for Abstracts

  • The abstracts must not exceed 250 words.
  • All abstracts must be typed, single spaced, with a clear typeface.
  • Title should be underlined and placed at the top of the abstract.
  • Author’s name should be in capitals, with the name of the presenter indicated by an asterisk (*).
  • Degrees and positions in departments should not be included, but the origin of the work should be stated.
  • The abstract must be clear and brief. 
  • Statements should, in general, be impersonal and the first person “I” and “We” avoided.
  • The abstracts will be presented at the meeting as a PowerPoint presentation. Presentation should be a maximum of 10 minutes with 5 minutes Questions.
The abstract should be organised as follows:
  • Purpose of study. Why was the study performed?
  • A brief statement of methods. How was the study done?
  • A summary of the results adequate to support conclusions. What did you find?
  • Conclusions.

11 October 2024 | Submission date for abstracts                                                                                                            

25 October 2024 | Notification of acceptance                                                                                                                        

8 November 2024 | Submission of PowerPoint presentation

 

Submission details: 

  • Submissions must be submitted online. 
  • Successful authors will be required to submit their presentation prior to the meeting. 
  • The timing (presentation and discussion) of all papers is at the discretion of the organising committee. Notification of the timing of presentations will appear in correspondence sent to all successful authors.
  • Successful authors must present in person for the oral presentations. Pre-recorded Posters will be accepted.

The submitting author of an abstract will ALWAYS receive email confirmation of receipt of the abstract into the submission site. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 24-hours, it may mean the abstract has not been received. In this circumstance, please email college.wa@surgeons.org to determine why an email confirmation has not been received.
